Well, it's been a 9 day dry spell for work on the house due to a wet spell of weather, but finally, we are back at it full speed ahead! The Stone Masons showed up bright and early (early anyway), at 6:15 a.m. Monday morning. By 10:00 a.m. (their first break) they had completed the back wall, started the fireplace and had the side wall well underway.

hard to tell from the pics but we had 11 trucks in the drive today, between HVAC and stone masons
wonder where they would all park if we lived in the city???
mixing the mortar
hauling off the extra HVAC supplies
finished roof - doesn't it look great?
trying to figure out the water ledge on the corner
laying the fire brick
finishing the back wall
finished wall
garage side finished
front garage wall started before the day was done
fireplace coming along nicely before end of day too
second day and the full garage wall is complete
stone going up on the fireplace
kitchen wall almost done and the end of day 2
the stone going up on the columns
the beginning of the cross that is going on the fireplace
front wall done
other side wall done
this column is just about finished
...and the cross is now up!
It's amazing how much they've gotten done in just two and a half days!
The end of the post today has nothing to do with the house but is instead about family. While I was in Lubbock, I got to meet my newest grand-niece, Sadie Harrington, daughter of Daniel and Janae.

Great looking place! Joe looks good. My best to all!
ReplyDeleteThanks! And yes he is better than he has been in two years. It's been a very rough time for him.
DeleteEverything is really looking great! Can't wait to see it in person, whenever that happens.
