As I suspected, the contractors underestimated the amount of time it would take to get the job done. The tile guy did not get the floors done (or even started) but did complete all the showers and the cabinet builder is still installing (and building) cabinets. However, it's really looking good!
In the last post you couldn't really see the trim around the windows in the living area so I took some close-ups
the upstairs shower progression - first wall and a check to see if I like the sliced pebble flooring tile
shelves are in - had to make a mad dash to Lowe's to pick up some coordinating tile for the shelves since the planks weren't really wide enough. I think they turned out okay.
floor is in - just waiting for it to dry and grout
completed shower
master shower walls done
floor is in
shower is complete
checking the floor for any raised edges - Kim has really sensitive feet
starting the guest bath shower
back wall done
waiting to dry and then grout
completed shower
It only took about 4 trips to Coppell to get everything we needed to complete the showers. The first trip they forgot to load the flooring tile and the thin-set. Some of the tile wasn't in and some was damaged, so that meant another trip. They still forgot to load the thin-set on the second trip, so it was back to Coppell. We were one box short for finishing the guest shower and the replacement wood flooring came in so one final trip. Whew! So glad to get that all done.
There was also an issue with the flooring tile. The sales person and I thought we ordered the design below:
However, what came is was a random mix.
I decided to pull the original pattern out of all the boxes to use in the guest bath
...and use the remaining five patterns in the master bath.
Meanwhile they have been installing the cabinets. There are lots of pics of the cabinets below.
upper portion of pantry - upside down

the slim pantry
there are 17 pull-outs in this pantry
including a coffee bar with pull out shelf and pot filler
refrigerator cabinet is up
there are nice big drawers under the stove top
the base of the living room built-ins
upper built-ins
my two pantries - can't wait to use all this storage!
built-ins in living room

the island
island is now set in place
The microwave shelf and opening had to be lowered. I couldn't use it at all where it was originally placed.
they are starting on the crown moulding - parts are laying across the top of the island
one section of crown done
living room is getting there - still need the fireplace trim and mantel and some cabinet doors
preparing to install the under stair cabinet
game room cabinets are in
tired of fighting the wasps in the game room while trying to install the shiplap
they're dropping like flies
sweeping them up - but I don't think we made a dent in the population
We're having trouble getting a response from the painter we want to use. He was supposed to come out and give us a bid about 10 days ago but we haven't seen him. Hopefully, he will respond soon since we're almost ready for paint and stain.
Stay tuned - - - more to come!
Oh My!!! Your forever home is really coming along. It is beautiful! So excited for you guys. See you and it in a little over a month. CJ
