Exterior Painting Done!

In the last post I was off to get more paint and today the painters finished up the exterior! Another milestone. It wasn't without delays however. We had three days they couldn't work this week due to rain, and yesterday they opened up the last 5 gallon bucket only to find it was the wrong color. That required another trip to Decatur to exchange it for the right paint. Apparently they had used the wrong base and what should have been gray was purple. Yuck!

painters begin

some time out for roasting hot dogs over the fire

and then marshmallows for s'mores - yummm!

Saige takes Bailyn and Grady for a ride on the 4-wheeler

lots of painting going on - so glad to get that awful yellow covered up

love the blue porch ceiling!

side porch finished

window trim

back porch - still need to stain the columns on the back porch

front is finished

LOVE the corbels - thank you Kim!!!

...and it's done! The Sherwin Williams paint colors are: fish scale shingles - Rushing River, shake shingles - Mountain Road, trim color - Useful Gray and the porch ceiling - Porch Ceiling (go figure).

HVAC supplies - he has worked a couple of days already and should be back this week.

The roofers are supposed to start tomorrow and stone is to be delivered in the morning; however, the forecast is for rain all week. We'll see...
