Yea!!!!! The framer finished up yesterday (May 11th), 3 1/2 weeks later than scheduled, due to rain, hail, a few architectural issues on the floor plans, and taking longer to put up all that siding than anticipated. This is a real milestone! The plumbers have also finished the top-out and tested all the lines, so we actually have water to the house, although faucets will be one of the last things installed, so, of course, the water is turned off. The painter started today. He has his work cut out for him with caulking, power-washing, and then painting. We'd like to get the painting done before the roof and stone work to avoid having to cover all that up. Below are some boring electrical and plumbing pics for documentation, as well as final pics of the framer's work.
plumbing in the ceiling
guest bath
plumbing and electrical - everywhere
a spaghetti bowl of plumbing and wiring
for the washing machine
pocket door frame
the beginning of a column
back porch siding complete
picking up nails - a never ending task
cutting holes for the can lights on the porch
working on the columns
a completed column - waiting on its stone base

front and side porch
dummy entry door
our road has turned into a river - over 3" of rain in about 12 hours
and all that rain makes the water flow at the front gate
Overhead Door out of Wichita Falls is coming by today to bring me color samples for the garage doors. The painter has estimated the amount of paint we need for each of the colors so I'm off to Sherwin Williams to pick up 17 more gallons to go with the 16 we purchased on Tuesday. Yikes! That's a lot of paint!
