Flooring is Almost Done!

Kim built a fire in the fireplace today even though the temperature got up to 73. It was about 60 degrees in the house this morning and we're trying to keep it warmer for the wood flooring. It's actually much warmer over there than in the house we're living in.

Too bad we can't just sit and enjoy it!!!

Kim (Mr. Frugal) used the blue tape off the floor and the boxes the flooring came in to tape down walkways in the house.

The cubby bench wouldn't come out after the door trim was installed so we had to get creative for them to lay the floor under it.

Once the kitchen floor was in, we could reset the island and the countertops could be installed.

Without going into great detail, we sent the bathroom countertops and the laundry countertops back to the shop. Let's just say they needed a little more work. Maybe the third time's a charm.

All the downstairs flooring was done (except for transition trim) when they left on Friday. 

Kim scraped and sanded all the upstairs floors preparing them for floor installation.

He was down on his hands and knees for days.

think we used a few boxes and a bit of blue tape??? At least the floor will be protected!

I spent the day cleaning tile and sealing grout. Fun!!!

All the flooring and tilework will be completed this week. Then we just need to install shower doors, remaining countertops, faucets, ceiling fans and a thousand other little details before we move in.
